Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, team-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our food production facility. This role is responsible for leading production teams, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards, driving efficiency, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate has prior leadership experience in food or beverage manufacturing and a strong focus on people development and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, and develop production team members to meet daily production goals and maintain high performance standards.
Coordinate production schedules and resources to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate execution of production runs.
Monitor production lines and processes to ensure compliance with company standards, HACCP, GMPs, USDA/FDA regulations, and customer requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, waste reduction, and productivity.
Ensure all employees follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Troubleshoot equipment or process issues and collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and other departments to resolve problems quickly.
Track and report on production metrics including yield, throughput, downtime, and labor utilization.
Participate in hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
Serve as a role model for company culture, accountability, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, food science, or related field preferred.
3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in food manufacturing or related production environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices, HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems (ERP/MRP experience a plus).
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as production demands.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods in a manufacturing environment.
Lift and move up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, refrigerated areas).
