Position Purpose: Provide Supervision for the entire building, as well as, oversee operations in the Production Department by maintaining a safe work environment, while; upholding the production schedule, meeting quality expectations, along with labor utilization in a fast-paced work environment. In addition, works with maintenance department to ensure all of the equipment is maintained effectively to optimize run time efficiencies. Also, recommends, develops and implements best practices to improve production metrics.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and lead a safe work environment by advocating safety training, safety incident preparedness, and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
- Lead and manage the Production Department team members in safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
- Ensure production meets on-time delivery and quality standards and requirements in an effort to exceed customer expectations.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and coordinates with Maintenance Manager to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
- Coordinate and track employee assignments, breaks, lunch times, attendance, PTO, and tardiness for all Extrusion production employees.
- Ensure the proper training requirements and mentoring of new hires is completed per Double H standards.
- Display strong Leadership, problem-solving, and effective written/verbal communication in order to enforce all equipment, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with your peers, team, and senior managers in order to communicate effectively, collaborate across departments, strategically implement solutions, and promote growth and development where all team members are respected and valued.
- Inspire your team with coaching to facilitate individual growth and development; foster a collaborative environment in which all team members are respected and valued.
- Responsible for the 5s organization and cleanliness of the manufacturing floor.
- Must enforce all procedures and guidelines as defined by the SQF Certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, with at least three years of supervisory experience in a related area.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing facility, with an understanding of molding and machinery, plastics, paper, and/or packaging, is preferred.
- Experience with GMP and SQF compliance preferred.
- The individual must be a self-starter (ability to work independently).
- Must be able to oversee, direct, and train people on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to perform assigned tasks.
- Must communicate effectively in all situations with strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel, along with an ability to accurately record activities in the IQMS database.

NOTE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The ability to train personnel and machine operators is required. The ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English is a requirement. Good computer skills are required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand on their feet routinely; stooping, squatting, and reaching can be expected along with lifting of up to 50 lbs. of machinery and parts. In addition, be able to work; with hot parts or equipment in a dusty area while wearing proper safety gear, and around oil and grease.
Safety: To maintain proper safety standards according to established Sanitary and Housekeeping Practices (GMP Compliance), proper use of all safety equipment, i.e., proper use of personal protective gear, including gloves, ear plugs and safety glasses.
