Description
· Develop work assignments and track progress according to statistical reports and resource allocation. Review performance and productivity by Department and individual.
· Develop a standard training and mentoring program for new employees.
· Maintain a safe work environment.
· Ability to forecast resources to maintain optimum production on time and within approved quality standards.
· Experience with and knowledge of 5 S philosophy, Lean Manufacturing, and six sigma processes as applied to the manufacturing floor.
· Excellent written and verbal communications. Maintain continuous communications between the manufacturing floor and senior management.
· Prepare and analyze standard reports to monitor daily statistical progress and forecast variances in operational functions.
· Responsible for inventory control and cycle count.
· Team player, a must.
· Team building. Ability to be fair and consistent with all employees within the organization while maintaining productivity standards.
Requirements
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree or related years’ supervision experience.
· Two years in a production supervisory position in manufacturing.
· Experience: Rubber industry experience or exposure a plus; Six Sigma certification a plus, Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9001:2000 quality system.
· Prior Quality experience is a plus
· Strong mechanical/maintenance aptitude a plus.
· Skills: Troubleshooting of operational processes and employee issues; Knowledge of shift scheduling, employee grievances; union environment; Generate technical and quality documents with little supervision; Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes; rubber a plus; Knowledge of Manufacturing Process control; Function under tight deadlines; multi-task environment; Ability to work in a collaborative environment; Strong interpersonal skills and technical knowledge of process and product; Technology; leadership skills a must; Flexibility
Physical demands
· Person will regularly be required to use hands & arms with repetitive motion & reach
· Occasionally will move/roll a fuel cell weighing up to 50 pounds
· Manual dexterity for handling production material
· Standing consistently during a 10-hour shift
· Employee will regularly be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
work environment
The plant is a warehouse environment & temperatures can vary depending on seasons. May be required to wear a respirator due to air borne particles, chemicals & solvents. Some Employees may be required to crawl inside cells. Safety glasses are required at all times in production areas.
