Production Supervisor – 2nd & 3rd Shift

Position Overview

Bluegrass Recruiting is seeking experienced Production Supervisors for second and third shift opportunities with an established automotive manufacturing company in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-volume manufacturing, experience overseeing multiple production lines, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Candidates with experience in automotive manufacturing, metal stamping, or heavy fabrication are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production operations across multiple manufacturing lines during second or third shift.

• Lead, train, and develop production employees to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved.

• Monitor production schedules, staffing levels, and equipment performance to meet customer demands.

• Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.

• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering departments to address production challenges.

• Monitor key production metrics, including efficiency, scrap, downtime, and equipment performance.

• Manage employee attendance, performance, scheduling, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

• Communicate production updates, operational concerns, and shift performance to plant leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous production supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.

• Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred, particularly within a Tier 1 supplier.

• Experience managing multiple production lines in a high-volume manufacturing facility.

• Background in metal stamping, heavy fabrication, or automotive component manufacturing highly desirable.

• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment is a plus.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold employees accountable.

• Understanding of production scheduling, manufacturing KPIs, and continuous improvement practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot production challenges and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Must be comfortable working second or third shift.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000, depending on experience.

• Additional Pay: Eligible for straight-time compensation for hours worked beyond 45 per week.
