Sage V Foods is a fast-paced and technologically advanced food manufacturing company based out of Little Rock, Arkansas.  We cook and freeze rice for retail stores, with products in over 10,000 stores around the country.  It is a great place to learn new skills, earn competitive pay, and build a career!

Supervisor Team at Sage V Foods

When fully staffed, we have a supervisor’s team of 12 working throughout our production floor.  We are looking for Production Supervisors with various skill sets (Supervises production line set-up, Establishes, and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy., etc.) We provide on-the-job, offsite technical, and vendor training. Pay ranges from $55,000 to $65,000. Pay is based on the skill set of the applicant.

 

Our facility runs 24/7 with separate day and night shifts that to NOT rotate days to nights.  Shifts are 12 hours and rotate days throughout the week.  The rotation is as follows: Two days on, two days off, three days on. The following week is two days off, two days on and three days off. A three-day weekend every other week.

 

We have an advanced facility with a wide variety of machinery.  We’re looking for Production Supervisors with diverse skill sets, including:

  • Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
  • Reports equipment problems to appropriate department and production manager.
  • Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Forecasts staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team; accordingly, trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees being supervised; resolves personnel issues,
  • Coordinates with the production manager to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, timecard approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Assists production manager with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by employees.
  • Inspects for proper sanitation of equipment and facilities; takes corrective action to resolve deficiencies.
  • Resolves production-related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
  • Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager. 
  • Supervises all production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift.

 Our manufacturing facility includes the following equipment:

  • Robotic packaging and palletizers
  • High-speed scaling and bagging
  • Steam boilers, blanchers, cookers, and water treatment
  • Sophisticated rice cleaning and sorting
  • Tunnel freezers, tunnel dryers, and various conveyors

Duties & Responsibilies


Physical Demands

  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Stooping, twisting, bending, and kneeling occasionally.  Able to carry 50lbs. and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Close visual work on PC and controls; determine detail, able to distinguish colors.
  • Able to wear required PPE.
  • Work extended and/or off-shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Climb to various levels in the facility using ladders.

Work Environment

  • Plant production areas: including inside and outside the plant, extreme hot and cold, not air-conditioned.  Uneven walking surfaces.  Plant office areas.
  • Exposed to electrical discharges, dust, fluids, compressed gases, rotating equipment, hot surfaces, noise, wet floors, loose material on floors and moving lift equipment.
