Job Responsibilities:
The Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety. They act as the bridge between production staff and management, combining technical expertise, leadership, and operational oversight to meet organizational goals.
Job Duties:
•The Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating production activities to ensure that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards. Core duties include:
•Staff Management: Supervising, training, mentoring, and evaluating production personnel, addressing performance issues, and fostering a team-oriented environment
•Production Oversight: Allocating resources, monitoring workflows, and ensuring production targets and deadlines are met
•Quality Control: Conducting inspections, coordinating with quality assurance teams, and ensuring products meet specifications
•Equipment and Maintenance: Monitoring machinery, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating maintenance to minimize downtime
•Safety and Compliance: Enforcing safety protocols, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring adherence to health, environmental, and regulatory standards
•Process Improvement: Implementing operational improvements, optimizing efficiency, and reducing costs
•Reporting and Coordination: Preparing production reports, liaising with other departments such as logistics, procurement, and engineering, and assisting in budget monitoring.
•Supervisors spend most of their day on the manufacturing floor. The role requires hands-on oversight of production lines and close collaboration with engineers, management, and other departments to maintain smooth operations.
Skills and Requirements:
•Education: Minimum of a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
•Prior supervisory experience or experience in manufacturing is highly valued
•Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and safety protocols
•Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to manage teams effectively
•Certifications (Optional but Beneficial): Lean Six Sigma, Certified Production Technician (CPT), OSHA 10/30, or quality management certifications
•Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day
•Comfortable working with Fiberglass
