Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations in a fast-paced automotive plastics environment. The facility produces automotive components such as front & rear fascia bracket systems, radiator and grille support assemblies, ornamental exterior appliqués, underbody splash/aero shields, and molded-in-color (MIC) interior trim. You’ll lead a team of operators and technicians across injection molding and assembly processes (stack molding, mold-to-mold transfers, vibration/ultrasonic welding, heat staking, riveting, manual assembly) to ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Leadership: Champion a safety-first culture, maintain housekeeping standards, and supervise production employees on the assigned shift.
Production Management: Coordinate schedules, resources, and tooling to meet daily production goals and on-time delivery.
Process Oversight: Direct injection molding and secondary operations—including vibration/ultrasonic welding, heat staking, riveting, and manual assembly—ensuring process integrity and minimal downtime.
Team Development: Train, coach, and mentor operators, assign work, and foster high morale and accountability.
Quality & Continuous Improvement: Monitor product quality, drive scrap reduction, and lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives.
Cross-Shift Coordination: Ensure seamless hand-offs between shifts and consistency in production practices.
Administrative Duties: Complete shift reports, track KPIs (safety, output, downtime, scrap), participate in production meetings, and support hiring/performance processes.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Manufacturing experience (plastics or automotive preferred)
Demonstrated leadership or strong leadership potential
Solid problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency (email, ERP/MRP, MS Office)
Willingness to work any shift and overtime/weekends as needed
Preferred
Prior supervisory experience in thermoplastic injection molding
Familiarity with secondary plastic assembly processes (vibration/ultrasonic welding, heat staking, etc.)
Automotive manufacturing experience with PPAP/IATF 16949 practices
Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma training
