The Production Supervisor in Franklin WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo’s strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Saputo has a strong history in Wisconsin and are proud to be expanding our footprint in this area.

The Production Supervisor directly supervises production employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing, and resolving product and employee concerns. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws.

Schedule Openings:

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

How you will make contributions that matter...

  • Work with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the plant, align with production processes & company expectations.
  • Ensure proper procedures are in place and being followed for production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments to machines.
  • Coordinate and communicate production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of production run assignments.
  • Evaluate and anticipate production volume adjustments, daily assignment of duties; establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production run schedules.
  • Using ERP system, complete production data entry results and reporting to include production results, volume, OEE, planned/unplanned downtime by product type and order.
  • Complete and review production/packaging records, Master Cleaning Sanitation Lists, schedules, accident reports and investigations, and any other documents.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee training (i.e., job, safety, etc.) and monitor work performance.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Using CI methods, analyze, identify, and communicate root cause and preventive measures to proactively resolve work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records as required.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other departments to meet performance objectives.
  • Provide supervision of assigned employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, and performance management. If a collective bargaining agreement exists, may participate in grievances solutions or other contract related activities and discussions.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures. Support employee progressive disciplinary action activities in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Promote safety programs and policies to reduce the number of safety incidents and near-misses.
  • Train and instruct employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes. Oversees instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.
  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating.
  • Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

You are best suited for the role if you…

  • One to three years of production supervisor experience. Food manufacturing industry supervisor experience is required.
  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Operations Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Proficient with ERP solutions, SAP preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Have good organizational skills with ability to prioritize and pay attention to the details.
  • Strong team player and leader with ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.
  • Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and positively always represents and promotes Saputo.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.

Salary range: $70,050 - $91,950

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
