Reporting to: Production Manager
Responsibilities:
- Has a thorough understanding of our company’s policies, procedures, processes, equipment and capabilities to serve our customers. Leads the manufacturing team within established company policies and procedures to meet company objectives and customer expectations.
- Plans work, makes assignments and coordinates work flow to balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to meet manufacturing objectives and customer delivery expectations. Maintains proper inventory levels. Adjusts the schedule as necessary.
- Trains the manufacturing team, and serves as a resource to manufacturing employees in resolving production issues.
- Hires, trains, directs, motivates, evaluates and rewards the manufacturing team to meet the company’s manufacturing objectives. Takes corrective action as necessary to correct performance issues.
- Maintain an awareness of any production issues needing personal involvement to resolve. Collaborates effectively with customers and internal support resources to respond to production issues.
- Manages performance, reviews and disciplines employees, as needed consistent with company policies and procedures, and in compliance with government laws and regulations.
- Establishes a culture of continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.
- Monitor performance to ensure that the manufacturing team maintains timely and accurate records and reports, as required.
- Monitor performance to ensure that the manufacturing team practices good housekeeping and safety habits and supports and follows company policies.
- Performs accident investigations when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations.
Requirements
- High school education is required. At least some college education in a related field is preferred. Has the necessary training to be proficient in the position.
- Through related experience has demonstrated the skills and ability to be an effective production supervisor with the company.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people to achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
- Has a continuous improvement philosophy and is proficient in applying continuous improvement techniques.
- Has a strong customer orientation and is able to effectively communicate, build relationships, present ideas, and resolve issues in a collaborative manner.
- Able to understand and utilize financial statements as a management tool.
- Has excellent computer skills and is proficient with all related company systems and programs
- Has strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management skills in prioritizing and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
- High energy with a sense of urgency in responding to customer needs.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
