Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Production and Scheduling Supervisor for the Arlington, TX facility.

Production Supervisor Primary Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises production personnel to ensure that orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop production schedules for all areas of production to maximize available machine time, labor, and material with a demonstrated understanding of work center capacity.
  • Communicate abnormalities such as spikes in demand or lack of work clearly and with maximum advance notice to the production leadership team.
  • Utilize ERP system, including reports, to more effectively schedule and dispatch; fully utilize and understand all modules including Scheduling Dashboard, Production Calendar, Shipping Dashboard, Load Summary, PID Maintenance, BOM/Routings
  • Enter scheduling information into ERP system, and other data tracking programs as necessary.
  • Coordinate Production Scheduling with freight/dispatching to ensure loads are complete and ready to be shipped based on customer needs.
  • Negotiate with third party carriers for value rates (pricing as well as service)
  • Must be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures necessary to lead and troubleshoot assigned production areas.
  • Analyzes discrepancies to devise and implement a corrective plan of action.
  • Trains and provides support to new and current employees to ensure complete understanding of roles and responsibilities.
  • Provides feedback in employment decisions such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and the hiring and termination of production personnel.
  • May perform various functions in PeopleSoft including creating jobs, printing job travelers, issuing materials, and reporting quantities.
  • May be required to report plant metrics such as LF/HR, Blocks/HR, and scrap rates.

Production Supervisor Experience

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior scheduling experience preferred.
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred.

 

Production Supervisor Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Must be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures necessary to lead and troubleshoot assigned production areas.
  • Ability to deal effectively with changes in production scheduling and ensure production processing/paperwork accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas.
  • Advanced math skills (Able to do statistical analysis, budgeting and forecasting)
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, ADP)
  • Able to analyze costs, benefits, risk and success of a decision.

 

Production Supervisor Education, Licenses & Certifications

  • Two year or 4 year college degree in related field preferred but not required.

 

Production Scheduler Additional Information

  • Light to moderate physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
