Description

The Production Scheduler / Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing the production schedule for a CNC machining operation. This role ensures efficient workflow across multiple machines and departments by aligning customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, and machine utilization. The ideal candidate will drive on-time delivery, reduce bottlenecks, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a high-mix, low- to mid-volume manufacturing environment.

 Preferred Qualifications 

 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • 3+ years of production planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and shop floor operations 
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, scheduling tools, reporting) 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment 
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement 
  • Knowledge of capacity planning and finite scheduling 
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) 
  • Experience with high-mix, low-volume production


Environment

  • Primarily office-based with regular time spent on the shop floor 
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing environment (noise, machinery, etc.) 
  • May require occasional extended hours to meet production demands
