Production Process Excellence Specialist


We are looking for a Production Process Excellence Specialist with Electronics Manufacturing experience to enhance the company’s performance by ensuring defect-free products are delivered to internal and external customers, while cultivating an environment of continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work cooperatively with process engineers, production coordinators and supervisors to improve the performance of operators and processes
  • Analyze and improve metrics on, but not limited to, quality, rework, and efficiency
  • Encourage the operators to be active participants in improvement activities
  • Ensure operators are using and following assembly instructions and performing successive checks
  • Review adequacy of assembly instructions and make and/or recommend revisions
  • Ensure defined process parameters are being followed (flux, alloy, machine program, etc.)
  • Visually inspect in-process product for compliance
  • Slide line, (line and direct slide)
  • Wave and selective solder
  • Coating
  • Router and manual depanel
  • Hand soldering
  • Provide training on an as-needed basis for support functions
  • Assist in developing and auditing production training programs during conception and periodic reviews
  • Identify relevant process and tool/fixture opportunities
  • Enlist the help of PEs or QEs when necessary
  • Identify opportunities for standardization across processes, equipment, or products
  • Facilitate and participate in implementation of improvement activities
  • Educate and coach staff on continuous improvement principles 
  • Promote and support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Promote the concept of individual responsibility for product excellence
  • Create a positive work environment and set the standard for interdepartmental cooperation


 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of electronic manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Thru-hole experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and IPC standards
  • Utilize Lean methodologies such as conducting Kaizen Events
  • Intermediate ability in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MRP/ERP
  • Ability as a team builder, mentor, and coach
  • Leadership ability including people management, meeting facilitation, and customer support
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with all people inside and outside the company
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment

 

Required Experience & Education 

  • Associate degree in a technical field (internal candidates may be considered with a HS degree or equivalent and proven technical expertise)
  • Minimum 5 years in an electronics manufacturing environment 
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement efforts
  • ISO environment
