Job Summary:
The Die Setter/Press Operator is responsible for manufacturing quality parts as directed within an acceptable time frame to assist the organization in meeting all manufacturing and customer requirements and perform assigned tasks in a safe manner. They are also responsible for setting dies in presses in a safe and effective manner
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate progressive stamping press.
- Identify tool wear or damage.
- Follow written instructions and drawings to produce quality parts according to customer specifications.
- Ability to transfer the die in the proper manner.
- Perform coil changes (Align the die, steel, feeder, etc. and secure the equipment as required).
- Adjust press, feed, coil height, as required to obtain inspection approval and safe operation.
- Set up Peripheral equipment such as guards, conveyors, lubricators, and unloading devices.
- Obtain first piece approval once die is set.
- Ensure that all safety and quality start-up procedures are followed.
- Perform all required quality checks utilizing gages and other measuring devices as required in the control plan.
- Adjust, as necessary, to maintain part conformance to print.
- Manage the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area (5S).
- Responsible to communicate with team members (Supervisor, Leader, Quality, Co-workers) on any issues with the machines. Understand what the cause of the issue is and which team members to inform. (Maintenance, Quality)
- Report any injuries, accidents, equipment malfunctions, miss hits, property damage etc. to the Supervisor.
- Work within teams
- Review and follow standardized work instructions.
- Operate hi-lo, crane and any other equipment to transfer equipment.
- Authorized to stop the process if it does not meet quality and/or safety requirements and notify Supervisor/Quality immediately.
- Ensure that process labels are properly completed in Plex throughout the production run.
- Ensure all containers are properly labeled as required.
- Responsible for accurately report production, including proper logging into and out of Plex.
- Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, heat reflective body garments and gloves as required to maintain personal safety and a safe working environment.
- Knowledge of the Quality Management System and understands their role in delivering exceptional performance and peace of mind to the customer.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minium one year experience
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
