Job Description
Job Summary:
The Teledyne FLIR Bozeman operation is a leading manufacturer of Laser Systems. Our products are vital components in the defense, high end commercial, and commercial industries. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated Production Planner to join the Materials department. The Production Planner is responsible for maintaining the Master Production Schedule to meet shipping deadlines. The role reviews material requirements and production schedules to coordinate priorities for the Production Team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain master production schedules to meet shipping deadlines
Plan and coordinate workflow across departments based on established sequences and lead times
Generate Production Orders in SAP, analyze and complete
Work with Purchasing to understand and prioritize component material delivery
Provide analysis of costing against cost targets
Expedite operations and adjust schedules to address unforeseen challenges
Prepare reports and updates as needed
Evaluate and track completion dates for completed systems to maintain on-time customer deliveries
Ensure accuracy of data in SAP and data entry as required
Communicate with internal customers to maintain accurate delivery dates and expectations
Job Qualifications:
High school degree / GED required.
2+ years of relevant experience in planning
Manufacturing experience preferred
SAP experience preferred
Problem solving skills in relation to sourcing issues in order to support production requirements
Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated, ability to work both independently and within a team
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people professionally
