Production Planner – Job Description
Responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to support manufacturing goals, optimize resources, and ensure timely completion of customer orders. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, supply chain, warehouse, and logistics teams to align production requirements with material availability, equipment capacity, and shipping priorities.
Strong background in fleet and logistics management, including vehicle maintenance coordination, regulatory compliance, transportation planning, and resource allocation to support operational efficiency. Monitor production progress, identify scheduling constraints, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and improve workflow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer demand, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity.
- Coordinate raw material availability, inventory control, and production requirements to prevent delays.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment readiness and minimize production interruptions.
- Manage logistics activities, including fleet utilization, vehicle maintenance schedules, transportation coordination, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Communicate schedule changes and priorities across departments to maintain alignment with operational goals.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, delivery performance, inventory levels, and resource utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Production planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management principles.
- Experience coordinating fleet operations, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to analyze data, prioritize tasks, and solve operational challenges.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and production tracking tools.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple departments.
