Job Description
We are looking for an experienced
MIG Welder
to join our production team. This position will focus on welding structural steel components using
0.052" MIG wire
in a fast-paced production environment.
Welders will receive products that have been fitted up by our fitters and will be responsible for reading blueprints and welding symbols to determine where and how welds are to be completed. Work may include
I-beams, joists, webbing, connection plates, stiffeners, supporting brackets, and other structural steel components.
Welders will work as part of a crew of approximately
3–4 welders and fitters
in an area referred to as the
Pit. The ideal candidate is comfortable working at a steady production pace, producing quality welds, and following blueprints and welding specifications.
Job Requirements
- Must have MIG welding experience and be able to pass
1G and 2G unlimited weld tests, including visual inspection and bend testing.
- Experience welding structural steel is preferred.
- Ability to consistently produce quality MIG welds using
0.052" wire.
- Comfortable welding at approximately
25–30 amps
with wire speeds in the
400–500 range.
- Ability to weld at a fast pace while maintaining proper weld quality and consistency.
- Ability to read and understand
blueprints, welding symbols, and weld locations.
- Ability to operate a
hand grinder
and perform basic weld preparation and cleanup.
- Ability to work with fitted-up structural steel components.
- Experience with
I-beams, joists, webbing, connection plates, stiffeners, brackets, and similar structural components
is a plus.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a
3–4 person welding/fitting crew.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet production expectations.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work well with others.
