We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager at our State College, PA facility. The Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day production operations. This position will ensure efficient processes, provide technical support, and manage all members of the production team. The Production Manager will coordinate production activities with other departments such as procurement, service and engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and implement standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and product quality
- Encourage, manage, and lead the production team for maximum production flow
- Ensure products that are scheduled for completion are executed on time and quality standards are met
- Monitor daily production activities to ensure acceptable progress towards production goals
- Hiring and performance management: interview, hire, assign or redirect tasks, write and issue performance appraisals, issue discipline and address complaints in a timely manner
- Drive improvements in productivity, cost reduction, and output while delivering quality products on time to our customers
- Manage inventory and staffing requirements according to production schedules
- Be a safety role model with a drive to eliminate risks in every aspect of the operation
- Lead root cause analysis of issues with equipment and assign responsibility for corrective actions
- Identify and lead projects to deliver specific improvements to key company metrics
- Drive engagement by establishing an environment of trust and respect
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations or related field required
- 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably in manufacturing, required
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with an eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong capabilities in developing team members through coaching and feedback
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly to change
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
