Production Manager
Automotive parts maker needs a Production Manager to run its night shift, 10:30 pm to 7am manufacturing department. This position requires a very strong background in machining and assembly processes typical for an automotive parts manufacturer. Your primary goals will be to improve safety, delivery, cost, and quality.
- With safety first in mind, you will lead continuous improvement, following the principles of the Toyota Production System.
- Will oversee three supervisors and about 75 machine operators, assemblers, and machinists.
- Work with Quality to set goals including scrap reduction, reduction in customer complaints, and reporting of non-conformances.
- Evaluate and improve manpower layout, 5-S standardization, and organization layout.
- Work with maintenance to improve machine uptime.
- Provide data driven analyses of manufacturing problems.
- This position will require travel by plane and car 10-20%.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree preferred, but not required.
Must have a good understanding of automotive quality requirements for machined and finished parts.
Must have at least three years of supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience in driving quality, cost, delivery times, and safety improvements.
Must be committed to the use of metrics to understand production trends and weak points.
