Job Overview:

Job Title: Production Manager

Job Classification: Exempt/Full-Time (100% onsite)

Reports to: President

The Production Manager role at Toolcraft is an opportunity to use your dynamic personality to influence and lead at the single plant location in Germantown, WI (40 total employees with an average of 11 years of tenure). Your strong execution mindset will ensure success as a key member of the leadership team. This leadership position will drive the discipline of SQDC (safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement), to grow top line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability. You will develop and implement long and short-term strategic plans and drive significant plant Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements, while partnering closely with the Executive team.

Operational Excellence & Effective Problem Solving

  • Set and achieve short and long-term SQDC and financial objectives by developing actionable strategies and tactics aligned with Company vision.

  • Schedule manufacturing flow to maximize shop floor resources

  • Ensure accountability and enable the predictability of the outcomes of the plant. Determine root cause of delivery, quality or other issues quickly and effectively implement counter measures.

  • Lead and drive a continuous improvement mindset, to improve productivity and drive employee engagement.

  • Establish and sustain strong plant floor visual and daily management, problem solving methodologies

P&L Leadership -

  • Ability to work as a member of the leadership team to communicate and drive the strategic vision and growth of the business.
  • Work closely with the Executive team on Operations Strategy.
  • Responsible for synthesizing action plans, timelines and budgets for project and product goals and adjusting these plans accordingly to effectively respond to changing demands of the business.

Talent Management

  • Develop a high-performance team by engaging, coaching, and developing team members, and by driving accountability and ownership at all levels. Build a team where all employees are top talent, have a growth mindset and live our core values.
  • Overall responsibility for Production, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, Safety & Maintenance, and Order Processing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of management or operational leadership experience

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success within the machining industry.

  • Proficient knowledge of the manufacturing process and ability to read mechanical blueprints.

  • Proven successful applications of software tools including ERP, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong operational and leadership acumen

  • Critical thinking skills to properly identify problem areas & potential solutions.

  • Demonstrates Authenticity, Do the Right Thing, Grit & Humility
