Job purpose
- We are seeking a results-driven Production Manager to lead daily operations in a high-volume injection molding and assembly facility. The role is responsible for overseeing production performance, driving efficiency, ensuring quality standards and developing high-performing teams across multiple shifts. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in plastics manufacturing, thrives in a fast-paced environments and has a proven ability to improve processes, reduce waste and lead teams to meet and exceed production goals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drive and promote our “safety-first” philosophy; to include activities and practices that ensure our team members have a safe work environment.
- Oversee daily production across injection molding and assembly operations (multi-shift environment)
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality and cost targets.
- Monitor and report on KPI’s such as OEE, scrap rates, labor efficiency, downtime and throughput.
- Coordinate with the planning, processing, maintenance, quality and tooling teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using TPS manufacturing principles
- Identify root causes of production losses and implement corrective actions
- Lead, coach and develop supervisors and production personnel across multiple shifts
- Partner with HR on hiring, performance management and workforce planning.
- Collaborate with all departments to improve safety, reduce downtime and improve production.
Qualifications
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry in a production management role. Injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 to 10 + years of experience hiring, training, and leading manufacturing teams efficiently and effectively with a safety first mentality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a polished, motivating presence.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lead well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding and practitioner of TPS/Lean Manufacturing principles
- Proven track record of improving production metrics and reducing costs.
