Position Summary:
The Production Manager oversees all production operations within Red River Commodities' wild bird seed and backyard poultry feed facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This role leads production team members, manages daily operations, supports continuous improvement efforts, and partners with cross-functional teams to achieve safety, quality, customer service, and operational performance objectives while promoting a positive and accountable workplace culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage daily production schedules and ensure operations meet company goals for efficiency and output.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all products meet company and industry quality standards, addressing any issues that arise.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement ways to optimize production processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate raw materials and inventory levels.
- Equipment Maintenance: Work with maintenance teams to ensure all machinery and equipment are functioning correctly and receive necessary service.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to upper management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 3+ years in a production management role, preferably in the food or agricultural industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in production planning and process optimization.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment, including standing for long periods and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, HACCP, and industry best practices.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily conducted in a production facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and variable temperatures.
- Requires frequent standing, bending, and physical activity.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
