Job Summary:

The Production Manager is accountable for overall plant production performance across both shifts, driving operational efficiency and output results.  They are responsible for the safety and security of the team members, the quality of the product, the performance of the production lines, and the morale of the team members.  They will partner with the quality team to understand the customer expectations of the product and the package and ensure we are meeting all regulatory and certification requirements. They will coordinate with the scheduling department and the warehouse team to ensure the finished product is delivered on time to our customers and the raw and finished inventory is accurate.  They will collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the equipment is operating at top performance and in a safe manner.   They will develop and execute training and progressive development activities for the new and existing team members.  This role is part of the Plant Leadership Team and reports to the Director of Operations.

                                                 

Essential Job Functions:

The essential job functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure safety training is completed on time and all safety elements are followed by the team members.
  • Follow all quality and food safety regulations and certifications including USDA, SQF, and HACCP.
  • Track OEE and output on each line and utilize continuous improvements tools to improve those results.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for downtime or quality issues.
  • Ensure labor is assigned to the correct lines and is managed appropriately to meet the budget.
  • Understand the results of the engagement survey and ensure all team members are treated consistently and fairly with the upmost respect.

  • Able to work in a cold environment with raw meat.                                                    
  • May be assigned additional responsibilities as necessary.                    

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing (food preferred) and at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel and Microsoft Office products. 
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

  • Environment: Our facility is refrigerated. In this role you will be exposed to < 40 degrees for multiple hours of the day.
