Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled **Production Maintenance Mechanic **with experience in **PLC-controlled equipment, AC and DC drives, manual machining, and welding **to support high-volume manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing and production equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Configure and troubleshoot AC and DC motor drives, motors, and feedback devices
  • Perform **manual machining **tasks using **lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders **to fabricate or repair parts
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.
  • Perform **welding and cutting **using MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene torches
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC ladder logic
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and equipment modifications
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement permanent corrective actions
  • Follow all safety policies including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and hot work procedures
  • Document maintenance activities

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming
  • Strong experience with AC and DC drives, motors, and industrial controls
  • Proficiency with **manual machining equipment **(lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders)
  • Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and oxy-fuel welding and cutting
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as required
