We are seeking a highly skilled **Production Maintenance Mechanic **with experience in **PLC-controlled equipment, AC and DC drives, manual machining, and welding **to support high-volume manufacturing operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair manufacturing and production equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
- Configure and troubleshoot AC and DC motor drives, motors, and feedback devices
- Perform **manual machining **tasks using **lathes, Bridgeport mills, and surface grinders **to fabricate or repair parts
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems knowledge.
- Perform **welding and cutting **using MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene torches
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and PLC ladder logic
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
- Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and equipment modifications
- Identify root causes of failures and implement permanent corrective actions
- Follow all safety policies including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and hot work procedures
- Document maintenance activities
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical or vocational training preferred)
- 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming
- Strong experience with AC and DC drives, motors, and industrial controls
- Proficiency with **manual machining equipment **(lathes, Bridgeport mills, surface grinders)
- Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and oxy-fuel welding and cutting
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as required
