The Production Maintenance Lead 1 coordinates and performs maintenance activities related to maintaining, troubleshooting, rebuilding, and repairing production and processing equipment throughout the facility. This role supports daily maintenance operations by assigning work, guiding technicians, and ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues to minimize downtime. Working with minimal supervision, the Production Maintenance Lead 1 provides technical leadership, supports continuous improvement efforts, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Coordinate daily maintenance activities and assign work to maintenance personnel to support production needs
Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment
Lead and participate in equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities
Diagnose equipment failures and develop efficient repair methods to minimize downtime
Supervise maintenance and repair work on production equipment such as presses, lathes, milling machines, grinders, conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other facility equipment
Work with production supervisors and lead personnel to prioritize maintenance activities and expedite repairs
Inspect machinery, materials, and finished products to identify defects or operational issues
Determine required replacement parts and coordinate procurement as needed
Report defective equipment and recommend repair or replacement when repair costs exceed acceptable limits
Train and mentor maintenance personnel on troubleshooting methods, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices
Support department continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiency projects
Ensure maintenance documentation, work orders, and inspection records are completed accurately
Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with 5S standards
Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Experience: 4–6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Demonstrated troubleshooting and repair experience on production machinery
Ability to operate powered industrial equipment or obtain certification
Perform work under minimal supervision
Coordinate daily work assignments for maintenance personnel
Handle complex maintenance issues and refer only the most complex problems to higher-level leadership
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to maintenance technicians

Manual dexterity to perform equipment repairs and operate tools
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.
