Job Description: Production Lead - Punch Press Operator
If you want to continue working hands-on in a Production role but want the challenge of leading others in their work, the role of Fisher Barton Production Lead might be for you. Fisher Barton Production Leads work as production team members in one or more production area() and lead one or more production teams. Fisher Barton is constantly adding new technologies to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
You will do this by:
- Setting up 600-to-1000-ton presses
- Installing specified dies in presses using gauges and hand tools
- Aligning dies in presses according to specifications using feelers, shims, templates, bolts, clamps and wrenches
- Assisting the in-tool room with the inspection of die (when required) upon completion of job
- Inserting blanks manually into press and performing either hot or cold form operations
- Accounting for steel usage (as required) and accurately recording piecework formed
- Performing manual mill operations, ensuring beveled edge meets with customer specifications
- Adjusting temperatures on Fuse/Anneal ovens and operating to check sheet requirements
- Operating shot and grit blast machines, knowing which medium is used for each operation
- Understanding what parts need to be oiled and proper finish prior to leaving cell
- Checking quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues
- Packaging customers’ parts
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Performing operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 3 year experience working in manufacturing; or successful performance at the highest level of at least one Fisher Barton Production team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
- Proficient in troubleshooting problems to rapidly obtain successful outcomes
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)
- Familiarity with Epicor
- Ability to work well with personnel from all levels in all functions of the organization

Shift: 1st shift ; 5:30am - 2:30pm Monday through Friday.
