Description
The Production Lead is responsible for manufacturing food products by supervising staff, organizing and monitoring workflow while maintaining product integrity and following guidelines established by the company and other governing bodies.
1. Able to plan, prioritize, complete tasks effectively and efficiently.
2. Maintain the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
3. Assure all production rooms have an adequate supply of paper towels, gloves,
scrub pads, etc. needed for each shift to be successful.
4. Maintains staff by orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities for staff.
5. Maintains workflow by monitoring all steps of the process; setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources.
6. Assists facilitating corrections to malfunctions within the process control points and equipment.
7. Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; learning and supporting new equipment and techniques.
8. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources. Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP guidelines.
9. Maintains quality standards by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
10. Monitors and assists with resolutions for personnel problems by analyzing information, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.
11. Inform the company in case of absence or late arrival.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To perform this job succesfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must have a high school deploma or GED. The employee must be able to work flexible hours and at times flexible shifts. The employee must be able to prioritize and organize. The employee should have basic computer skills: word processing, spreadsheet and Outlook, as well as knowledge of print/apply and ink jet printers.
The employee is frequently exposed to cold and wet and/or humid conditions in
order to perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally
exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and extreme cold
In case of absence the hourly leads job functions will be covered by a Production Supervisor, Production Manager, or Plant Manager.
