The STVS Production Furnace Specialist team is in many ways one of the most important positions in Mott manufacturing. They ensure that our industry-defining porous material is sintered safely, in a way that meets the customer’s high expectations, and on time to a production schedule. Key Responsibilities:

Major Challenges:

  1. Safely operate production furnaces per operating guidelines and Standard Work instructions.
  2. Ensure product quality by properly setting and maintaining parameters such as gas flows, temperature, etc.
  3. Optimize production output by minimizing temperature changes and other events that affect Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of furnace.
  4. Provide Production Supervisor with information needed to track OEE of furnace including actual performance and reasons for downtime.
  5. Responsible for escalating issues in a timely manner that will impact safety, quality, or the production schedule.
  6. Responsible for all of the indirect work to running the furnaces, including but not limited to preparing trays of sheet and tube product, maintaining trays, brushing sheet, and the in process quality checks.
  7. Work with technical team including Engineers and Maintenance personnel to ensure furnaces are running in tip top shape.
  8. Commit to working additional hours beyond regular shifts or workdays as assigned by management.

Required Experience:

Personal Attributes:

  1. 5+ years in a high performance and critical manufacturing operation
  2. Experience around continuous industrial furnaces highly preferred.
  3. Familiarity with manufacturing documentation and basic principles.
