Job Description

River Valley, a growing specialty foods and consumable products distributor in Syracuse, NY, is searching for a full time Production Associate to join our New Holland, PA team. 

River Valley Holdings is a family-owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Garden Spot Foods, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY and New Holland, PA.

 The Production Associate participates in all of the production facilities assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. Consult with management to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Function as an information source to various company departments when special and critical quality issues occur.

 Responsibilities:

• Promote a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that enhances relationships with co-workers, managers and customers
• Foster a safe working environment by adhering to the company’s belief that safety is of paramount importance
• Work within production regularly to check finished product
• Confirm that facility audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained
• Review products from customer complaints
• Keep accurate records of calibrated scales, cleaning, time and temperature
• Enter all information on new products into NAV and confirm accuracy
• Other duties may be assigned as business needs require

Job Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Work requires some physical strain such as long periods of standing and walking in and around the facility and lifting of moderately heavy items such as test equipment kits and product cases. Other physical demands include climbing, crouching, and reaching. 

• Regularly work scheduled hours
• Support team environment by verbal communication of understanding of work requirements.
• Requires stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.  Requires crouching and reaching.  
• Also requires pushing, pulling and exerting force with upper extremities.
• Requires standing and walking for most of the day
• Maintain a clean work environment by following the sanitation schedule.

• Possess or ability to obtain HACCP certification.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required
• Some advanced education preferred
• Prior quality assurance experience is helpful
• Computer proficiency required

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm

Wages:

• $18.00 per hour
