Serta Simmons Bedding is seeking motivated Mattress Assemblers to join our team at our Greene, NY manufacturing plant.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in the mattress production process by assembling high-quality products with precision, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble mattresses according to established work instructions using a variety of pneumatic tools, including c-ring/hog-ring guns, staple guns, and hot glue guns.
  • Perform assembly of Hot Melt Bond (HMB) units using the HMB machine.
  • Apply specified upholstered layers to HMB units, open coil units, and foam-encased pocketed coil units.
  • Complete foam encasing and final mattress assembly processes while maintaining quality and production standards.
  • Inspect mattress components and finished products for structural defects, damage, or other unacceptable flaws.
  • Previous experience working with pneumatic tools and/or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Wage & Shift Hours:

*1st Shift : 6am- 4pm EST*

*2nd Shift: 4pm -12am EST*

1st Shift Base Pay: $21.00

+ $2.00/ hour second shift differential

Job Factors/Work Environments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required.Also, must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand.Heavy loads must be team-lifted.Production within the range specified for the position is required to maintain integrity of make-to-order system.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to comprehend and follow work instructions and production tickets.Must be able to understand and follow verbal instructions; communicate with coworkers and management clearly and respectfully; and work in an ever-changing, fast-paced team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals.Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
