Job Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY 

This role contributes to the rack PDU product roadmap using global customer feedback, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and administers customer-facing programs. It sets global product requirements, priorities, business cases, and release plans to achieve revenue targets. The role also benchmarks competitors, guides firmware development, identifies customer value propositions, and ensures accurate customer documentation and marketing materials. 

  • Contributes to defining rack PDU product roadmap by consolidating global Voice of Customer data to define market solutions. 
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing) to ensure product offerings address market needs and revenue targets. 
  • Administers and optimizes customer-facing product evaluation programs to drive adoption and feedback. 
  • Defines global product requirements, priorities, business case, and release plan. 
  • Establishes and communicates benchmarks for competitive landscape to Product Management team. 
  • Provides direction to Firmware development team on product features. 
  • Identifies value proposition by customer type. 
  • Ensures all customer-facing product documentation and marketing collateral is accurate. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Subject Matter Expert on rack PDU for executive, marketing, and sales teams. 
  • Drive new product development activities including creation of requirements documentation and business case. 
  • Drive cross-functional alignment between Project Management and Engineering to deliver products that meet or exceed market requirements, reducing time-to-market and improving competitive positioning. 
  • Maintain pricing for assigned offers based on market and competitor movements. 
  • Analyze competitor products, documenting strengths and deficiencies in core functionality. 
  • Define, develop, and administer customer-facing product evaluation programs. 
  • Partner with firmware development teams to define and deliver intuitive user interface experiences that meet evolving industry and end-user needs. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish firmware development priority with relation to bugs and feature enhancements and communicate regularly with firmware developers to ensure timelines are met. 
  • Engage with Services team to define and implement rack PDU service offering. 
  • Collaborate with Quality team to analyze global RMA trends and develop corrective action plans to reduce product returns. 
  • Gather and consolidate market intelligence from Sales and Regional Product Managers to inform product roadmap decisions. 
  • Conduct patent reviews for new offerings and collaborate with Legal to document findings and mitigate IP risk. 
  • Analyze Tech Support feedback to identify recurring issues and drive product improvements. 
  • Create and maintain product documentation including user manuals, quick start guides, and technical documentation. Provide support to regionalize documents as needed. 
  • Engage with Product Marketing team on creation of White Papers, Application Notes, Case Studies, and Articles. 
  • Deliver on-site consultations for critical customer engagements to resolve technical challenges and strengthen relationships. 
  • Interface with other Vertiv product and engineering teams to coordinate rack PDU integration with other hardware and/or software solutions. 
  • Provide training and general offering support to back-up Product Management team members. 
  • Participate in trade shows, key customer visits, and online marketing presence as required. 
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the product lifecycle. 

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Analyze and maintain data related to competitive offerings and propose product features to distinguish Vertiv in the marketplace by meeting customer requirements and addressing pain points. 
  • Drive global revenue growth for the rack PDU portfolio through strategic product positioning and roadmap execution. 
  • Deliver best-in-class customer-facing documentation by ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timely updates across all materials. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related technical field preferred; minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience accepted in lieu of degree. 
  • Strong knowledge of data center, IT infrastructure, or power distribution customer segments. 
  • Technical expertise to translate customer needs/pain points to solutions. 
  • Strong written/oral communication, especially in communicating customer needs. 
  • Strong relationship management skills. 
  • Excellent time management skills. 
  • Strong research and analytical skills. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. 
  • Experience with Smartsheets and PowerBI is preferred. 
  • Effectively communicates technical information and complex ideas to technically diverse audiences.
