Product Engineer

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Engineer to support product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, working with production teams, and improving how products are built. Projects can range from short-term improvements to larger initiatives spanning several months, so adaptability and strong communication skills are essential.

The Product Engineer will work closely with multiple departments to improve product quality, manufacturing processes, product documentation, and overall profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain product and Unit Identity (ID) data within production software, including measurements, materials, specifications, and images

• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products

• Identify components and document part numbers, technical specifications, images, and other product data

• Review customer requirements and translate them into detailed product and manufacturing requirements

• Create and maintain Production Work Orders (PWOs) and Work Instructions (WIs)

• Develop clear production documentation containing technical specifications, images, and step-by-step procedures

• Assist with Quality Stop (Q Stop) inspections

• Perform product and component testing using various testing equipment

• Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement and root-cause corrective actions

• Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend engineering or design changes

• Create CAD/SolidWorks drawings, prints, and models for engineering projects

• Collaborate with production, quality, and other departments to resolve product or process issues

• Report project progress, concerns, and recommendations to management as needed

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Experience working with technical product or manufacturing documentation

• Comfortable using computers, databases, and production-related software

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English

• Experience with CAD and/or SolidWorks

• Knowledge of BOMs, work orders, and manufacturing documentation

• Lean Six Sigma experience or related education preferred

• Knowledge of ISO 9001

• Familiarity with EPA and OSHA safety standards

• Strong interpersonal and conflict-management skills

Work Environment & Safety

This position works closely with manufacturing operations and may require time on the production floor. Required PPE may include:

• Safety glasses

• Safety shoes

• Earplugs

• Gloves, when required

• Face shields, when required

Safety, PPE, standard orientation, and other applicable training will be provided.
