Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Corporate Communications Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst, Product Communications.

The primary responsibility of this role is to generate positive media coverage for the company’s products and brand initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Lexus Communications, the person in this role will support the Corporate Communications department's objective to create advocates for our products and brands.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

This position is based at our North American headquarters in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What you’ll be doing

  • Serve as a key media spokesperson for product and brand-related topics, ensuring that factual information is conveyed quickly and accurately

  • Collaborate with stakeholder groups to write press releases, executive speeches, Q&As, and to oversee the production of still photos and videos, often under very tight deadlines

  • Oversee the production of complex media events with multiple stakeholders and vendors (Examples include press previews/ride and drives, virtual product reveals and stand-alone vehicle debut events). Benchmark, measure and improve ROI of events and paid partnerships/influencer strategy

  • Prepare and advise executives for speeches, presentations and interviews with international and U.S. media

  • Build strong relations with U.S.-based marketing counterparts as well as international PR, marketing, and R&D teams. Working with these groups, you will develop communication strategies and implement coordinated tactics in support of the successful launch and sustainment of our product lineup

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Journalism or business-related field, OR equivalent professional work experience relevant to this position

  • Experience in public relations or related marketing communications field

  • Strong automotive technical and industry background

  • Comfortable speaking on behalf of the company, on the record, for print, online and broadcast outlets

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks on tight deadlines

  • Proven ability to interact with top U.S. and international executives

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to communicate with external audiences

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time, sometimes for extended periods of time

  • This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position

  • Event planning and execution experience

  • Fluency in Spanish or Japanese

  • Lexus or Toyota product experience
