Job Overview:

Description

Primary Function:

Performs and oversees the setup, start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the molding processes during normal production runs. Ensures machine is running at established Overall Equipment Efficiency Standards (OEE). Responsible for the management of established quality standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sets up molds and production equipment including robots, auxiliary equipment, automation, etc.
  • Troubleshoots and identifies root cause issues of injection molding process and production equipment and records findings and/or submits work orders.
  • Performs established shift preventative maintenance and TPM tasks.
  • Maintains production data collection to include process change, downtime, and setup time.
  • Ensures all processes are running within established control limits.
  • Prepares first and last piece shots for Quality Control. Partners with Quality Technicians to ensure quality standards are met.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participates in continuous improvement activities, including 5S standards.
  • Assists in training operators and provides leadership in absence of Supervisor.
  • Performs established audits.
  • Participates in cross-functional meetings and activities.


Requirements

Required Skill/Knowledge:

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Process Line Technician in injection molding. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, takes initiative and is proactive. Team player, able to apply critical thinking in order to solve problems, attention to detail, good communication skills both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership capacity. Good interpersonal skills. Reliable and dependable. Able to adapt to frequent change and prioritize.

Preferred Skills / Knowledge:

IQMS/ ERP system familiarity, scientific molding/decoupled molding, continuous improvement methodology, decision making, basic pick and place robotic knowledge (ladder logic).

Education Level / Required Certification:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

Additional Information:

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, sit, walk, stand or balance and work within tight spaces. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Exposure to noise and odor of plastic. Exposure to liquid colorants, alcohol, cleaning and slip agents. Requires use of personal protective equipment. Required to operate overhead crane and electric pallet jacks. Overtime as required. Other duties as assigned.
