Overview
The Process Technician is responsible to ensure the molding process is being run as per processing requirements. This position requires excellent troubleshooting and mold setup skills. Can assist and coordinate daily activities of production workers engaged in operating plastic molding equipment that produce plastic molded parts. This position requires interaction with the other Shift Supervisors and Mold Techs/leads to coordinate shift operations, excellent troubleshooting skills, a thorough knowledge of the various equipment, resins and their characteristics. Provide direction for all employees and shift activities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct root cause analysis using the 5 Why method to identify and resolve production issues.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting on injection molding machines and related equipment.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and AS9102 standards throughout production processes.
- Implement Kaizen initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process quality and efficiency.
- Conduct machine safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Set up machines for production runs, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Utilize your experience in injection molding and tool/mold setup to support production needs.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate machine setups and production specifications.
- Operate and maintain various injection molding machines, including Toyo, Milacron, Toshiba, Arburg, and Engel.
- Safely operate forklifts to transport tools and products within the facility.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Process Technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with a focus on injection molding processes.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 quality standards.
- Experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Six Sigma certification or experience is a plus.
- Ability to conduct machine safety inspections and ensure compliance.
- Hands-on experience with machine setups for production runs.
- Injection molding experience is essential, with knowledge of tool/mold setups.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Experience operating various injection molding machines, including Toyo, Milacron, Toshiba, Arburg, and Engel.
- Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
