Key Responsibilities
Prepare, catalog, label, and coordinate delivery and shipment of glass recycling raw material samples to internal teams and external vendors, ensuring sample traceability and preventing contamination.
Collect samples from manufacturing plants, separate them into smaller quantities for analysis, and perform particle sizing using jar mills, ball mills, shredders, and related equipment.
Maintain and organize raw material retention samples for future reference.
Conduct raw material testing to evaluate particle density, particle size distribution, and other material properties using laboratory testing equipment.
Accurately record, organize, and maintain testing data, laboratory inventory, consumables, and equipment maintenance records.
Collaborate with laboratory teams and circular economy engineers to determine appropriate testing methods, laboratory locations, and efficient testing procedures.
Assemble, build, and configure pilot and prototype testing equipment to support recycling and circular economy initiatives.
Safely operate hand tools and small power tools to construct testing fixtures and mechanical prototypes, including piping and measurement instrumentation for fluids or hot gases.
Identify, source, and purchase construction materials required for prototype equipment.
Coordinate with safety, facilities, and maintenance teams to ensure prototype equipment meets safety standards and has the necessary utilities.
Conduct experiments and manufacturing plant trials using prototype equipment, collecting and documenting accurate test data.
Follow all safety procedures while handling materials, operating machinery, and supporting laboratory and manufacturing operations.
Work independently and collaboratively across R&D, engineering, laboratory, and operations teams to solve problems, adapt to changing priorities, and support multiple projects.
Learn new technologies quickly, maintain detailed documentation, and identify innovative approaches to improve testing and recycling processes.
Travel domestically up to 25% as required.
