3rd Shift Process Technician
Location: Arnold, MO
Shift: 3rd Shift (Sunday-Thursday Nights)
We are seeking an experienced Process Technician to join our 3rd shift manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by ensuring our injection molding processes operate safely, efficiently, and produce high-quality parts with minimal scrap. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills and experience in plastic injection molding.
Responsibilities
- Set up, monitor, and optimize injection molding machines to maximize productivity and quality.
- Troubleshoot molding process issues and make adjustments to maintain production standards.
- Perform mold startups, process changes, and machine parameter adjustments.
- Monitor cycle times, scrap rates, and machine performance to improve efficiency.
- Conduct capability studies and document process changes when required.
- Ensure all machines are operating within established process parameters.
- Clean and prepare hoppers, grinders, and auxiliary equipment for upcoming production runs.
- Communicate shift turnover information with supervisors, engineers, and fellow technicians.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Support production operators by providing technical guidance and process assistance.
- Complete production reports, downtime documentation, and shift paperwork accurately.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company policies while maintaining a clean work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Process Technician, Mold Technician, or Injection Molding Technician.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and troubleshooting.
- Experience performing mold changes, machine setups, and process optimization.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Understanding of quality standards, process documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on an off-shift while supporting production operations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
