Job Description

Bluegrass Skilled Trades is recruiting a Process Improvement Engineer for an established manufacturing company seeking a hands-on, solutions-oriented engineer to support continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, designing practical solutions, and working directly with production teams to increase efficiency and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to take improvement projects from concept through implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, propose, and implement improvements to manufacturing processes and production equipment.

• Design and develop custom equipment, tooling, and solutions to improve productivity and operational efficiency.

• Analyze production data, perform calculations, and develop strategies to improve manufacturing performance.

• Collaborate with engineering, production, maintenance, and other departments to implement process improvement projects.

• Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or a related technical field.

• Working knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or manufacturing technology.

• Experience with CAD software, such as Autodesk or similar design tools.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel, Python, or other data analysis tools.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement practical solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial automation or designing and implementing automated systems.

• Familiarity with IoT, smart factory technologies, or advanced manufacturing systems.

• Project management experience.

• Experience working directly on the manufacturing floor to identify and implement process improvements.
