**Process Engineering Technician - 1st Shift **
Location: Marlborough, MA
Pay Rate: 40 - 48/hr
Hours: 1st Shift (8am - 4:30pm)
Duration: 6+ months
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Process Engineering Technician who will focus on multiproduct manufacturing support, defect analysis of filter products, yield evaluations, engineering reports, and technician support for Process Engineering. The position is based in Marlborough, MA and will be focused on process support & development. This individual will work closely with Manufacturing and R&D to improve current and new products. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the department's production and quality goals are met. Hands-on mechanical aptitude and an exceptional problem-solving ability are important.
Responsibilities:
· Perform defect analysis on in-process failures and engineering samples to determine the cause of the failure. This includes verification testing, defect analysis techniques, microscope analysis, and engineering reports. The Process Engineering Technician will work closely with Engineer SME.
- Execute product evaluation testing (peel testing, pressure testing, flow testing)
- Identify and participate in the process improvement projects.
- Track in-process yields and evaluate with Engineer SME on findings.
- Lead small projects through change control process.
- Develop standardized documentation including SOP’s, training, validation of equipment, and reports
- Provide accurate and timely project reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Implementation of corrective actions to solve problems based on root cause analysis
Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma with 5+ years’ experience in technical role. 2-yr technical degree or better in sciences/engineering preferred.
- Excellent presentation, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience with the operation of manufacturing equipment (testing, assembly, fixturing, robotics, casting, pneumatic presses) and operation of process-scale manufacturing equipment
- Effective at change management
- Ability to work efficiently in an ISO-9001 quality system with appropriate attention to detail in the performance of controlled procedures.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently once training has been completed
- High attention to detail applied to all aspects of daily activities
- Must be resourceful and self-motivated
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
