Location:

This is an on-site position.  Moeller Precision Tool is centrally located within the Metro Detroit area, offering a 45-minute commute from Ann Arbor or Troy, Michigan. You'll have access to various local restaurants for lunch, easy I-96 access, and nearby apartment options.

Job Summary:

Join Moeller Precision Tool as a Process Engineer and play a key role in optimizing production processes for world-class tooling. This is an ideal role for experienced machinists ready to transition into engineering and drive innovation on the shop floor. Candidates with experience in CNC programming (CAD) will have a large advantage.

Note: This is not a senior engineering role. If you have a master’s degree in engineering or extensive experience as a manufacturing engineer, this position may not be the right fit.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop work instructions to optimize fabrication of Build to Print precision components
  • Generates bill of materials and develops process flows to meet customer specifications
  • Interacts with Engineering Manager, Plant Management, and the Quality Manager for job related functions
  • Aids plant for technical issues related to processes and customer specifics

Requirements (Must-Haves):

  • 3–5 years of machinist experience in a job shop or production environment.
  • Solid understanding of CNC/manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machining instructions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Experience with CAD Software such as Kubotek, CATIA, or Unigraphics
  • Experience with Epicor ERP or similar manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with CNC Programming using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).

Start Date:
