What you will do:

Autonomously lead assigned projects that have an impact on an entire department. Moving both projects and the team forward to deliver results in a way that is aligned with company values. The Project Engineer II provides engineering and project management support for the Engineering Manager and the Director of Engineering, as required.

Here’s a day in the life:

• Support the Engineering Manager in managing engineering projects

• Works with Cross functional teams to successfully lead project set-up including gathering requirements, estimating costs, supporting preliminary Return-On-Investment (ROI) analysis of potential/conceptual projects, obtaining funding authorization and assessing risk.

• Lead engineering design of Process, Equipment, Facilities, Electrical, Controls/Automation, and Utilities. Ensure project adheres to Engineering Standards to meet/exceed SQF/ODA quality improvement expectations throughout the plant.

• Lead equipment & services selection. This includes the evaluation, selection and procurement of equipment and services. This work includes contract negotiation.

• Responsible for project control elements of each project including managing cost, cash flow schedule, scope (change orders), risk.

• Manage the construction of a project including the demolition, build, and install. Acceptance testing coordination Mark up project drawings to create as built documentation. While meeting /exceeding quality and safety expectations throughout the plant.

• Manage the startup of a project including acceptance testing, testing on site and performing initial production runs.

• Responsible to successfully close each project including Project Documentation, Procedure Documents, Operation Training, Punchlist, Handover, and project lessons learned.

• Executing project while demonstrating Intermediate Project Management Skills including … Provide consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates and ongoing cost analyses, significant issue tracking.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.

EXPERIENCE

• 4–7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

Physical requirements:

• Sitting

• Standing and/or walking

• Lifting 25 lbs

• Vision for machine or computer operations

• Hearing

• Corporate role Must be able to travel 25-50% between Tillamook manufacturing facilities.

• Required to traverse catwalks, rooftops, access ladders, and lifting 50# objects. Crawling under pipe racks and HVAC is common and expected.

Working Conditions:

Office: Individual work space, desk and computer. Generally quiet, temperature controlled, in well-lit areas. Requires sitting majority of shift; can include standing and walking to accomplish tasks. May require stooping, bending and crouching to file, retrieve supplies. Occasional lifting of 50 pounds.

Work Site Project Management: Work is normally in plant environment. Can include working outside in all weather conditions, working in confined spaces and in poorly-lit areas, walking on uneven, slippery surfaces and encountering forklift traffic. Could require standing for the majority of the shift, stooping, bending, crouching and climbing ladders, as well as walking on high catwalks and rooftops. Duties may include lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering heavy equipment and/or parts.
