Position Summary
Developing, configuring and optimizing PCBA processes from inception through to start up and certification. Assessing processes, taking measurements and interpreting data. Designing, running, testing and upgrading process-related systems. Responsible for increasing plant stability, improving production throughput and optimizing equipment performance. Analyze key process trends and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain to scope, develop and execute business improvement initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding current system capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate improvement across all systems/departments.
Project management – Assist with research, test, source and cost-justify various tools, machinery, and equipment. Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards. Lead in pre-job meeting and project mile stone meetings. Collect and correlate data to discover flaws or opportunities for improvement.
Develop and maintain complete and accurate written records such as system interactions and/or process documentation for new or improvements to existing systems and/or processes.
Develop and maintain best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve system and process interactions.
Apply accepted engineering principles, completes assigned tasks efficiently with some supervision; confers with management as required.
Provide training/cross-training in equipment, software, and process operations across all systems/departments
Capable of providing technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues. Analytical skills for troubleshooting designs not working as planned, asking the right questions and finding answers that work
Communicating effectively with customers, employees, suppliers, vendors, management, and stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skill Sets, Education, Experience
What you’ll need:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical principles.
3+ years of experience in a process engineering role.
Familiarity with process simulations, CAD software, and engineering software systems.
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including macros, VBA, and complex formulas
Flexibility to work scheduled hours and extra hours as required
General understanding of software system interactions
Excellent communication skills
Desired:
Relevant experience in high-reliability aerospace and defense hardware manufacturing
Relevant experience manufacturing printed circuit boards and circuit board assembly
Demonstrated experience with LEAN manufacturing and industry-practiced methodologies
