Job Description

Job Overview:

This client manufactures UL-listed switchboards, control panels, and power distribution equipment for AI and data center infrastructure. They are hiring a Process Engineer to be the floor-level expert embedded in daily production. You will own time studies, standardized work instructions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement at the workstation level. Your work directly feeds the Manufacturing Engineer's system-level planning with real data -- cycle times, defect trends, capacity baselines. If you are the kind of engineer who wants to be in the operation, not above it, this is the role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Design and execute time studies across all major products. Build templates, analyze data, and establish baseline and optimized cycle times. This is your methodology to own.

• Develop clear, operator-friendly work instructions for every major assembly and wiring process. Tribal knowledge becomes documented, repeatable, and trainable -- that is your deliverable.

• Lead floor-level kaizens on assembly sequences, wiring methods, and workstation workflows. Escalate improvements with broader cost or layout implications to the Manufacturing Engineer.

• Lead root cause analysis on defects, rework, and quality escapes using structured methods -- 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D. You do not guess at causes.

• Validate new and revised processes to confirm they meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards before full deployment.

• Identify floor-level tooling issues and bring improvement proposals to the Manufacturing Engineer. You surface the problems; tooling decisions are made upstream.

• Develop training content and visual aids for operators. Design the data collection systems and templates used on the floor; outputs feed capacity plans and dashboards.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum 2 years in a process engineering role with strong, consistent floor presence. This is not a desk job.

• Hands-on experience with time studies, work measurement, standardized work documentation, and structured root cause analysis.

• MUST HAVE: Practical Lean manufacturing and kaizen experience. You have led events and have outcomes to show for them.

• Proficient in developing process sheets, visual documentation, and assembly line layouts.

• Familiar with ERP systems, AutoCAD, and advanced Excel including macros and tracking tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience with UL standards (UL508A, UL67, UL891) is a plus.
