Job Summary

A growing engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support the design and engineering of custom modular systems and specialty structures. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate technical drawings used for customer review, fabrication, and regulatory approval. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and collaborating with engineers, customers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create new CAD drawings and modify existing drawings based on engineering input and project requirements

• Develop 2D and 3D drawings for modular buildings and custom engineered systems

• Send drawings to customers, engineers, and state agencies for review and approval

• Print and plot drawings for distribution to purchasing, production, and project teams

• Update drawings based on customer feedback, engineering changes, and approval comments

• Maintain organized drawing files and revision control in accordance with company standards

• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and project management teams

• Assist with documentation and bill of materials (BOM) support as needed

• Ensure drawings meet applicable codes, standards, and internal design guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and document control practices

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, construction, or modular building environments

• 3D modeling experience

• Familiarity with structural, electrical, or mechanical drawings

• Experience coordinating drawings for customer or regulatory approval

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Office-based role with occasional interaction with production or fabrication areas

• Prolonged periods of computer use

• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
