Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial plant.
Offers suggestions to improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity and set up production schedules.
Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates manufacturing processes such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly and material handling.
May assist with time and cost estimates.
Implements approved process improvements to meet quality standards, performs feasibility studies and helps to solve manufacturing problems.
Creates necessary documentation and aides in communication to personnel.
Studies and makes recommendations for manufacturing facility layout regarding items such as sequence of operations, equipment layout and utilization and other related items.
Researches new manufacturing methods, equipment and other manufacturing technologies and makes recommendations for implementation.
Ensures that the organization's processes and equipment comply with all safety laws and regulations.
Composes test and technical reports.
Delivers simple or routine presentations.
May provide work instructions to technicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 0-3+ years relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, industrial or other engineering discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills
- Excellent customer service skills with an ability to approach every business relationship as a partnership
- Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to address customer issues and partner on resolutions
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to resolve situations while making a point firmly and seeking a positive outcome for both sides
- In-depth understanding and demonstrated competency in working with computer software and mainframe applications to manipulate, analyze and reconcile data
- Ability to effectively apply the PDCA process to identify potential process improvements
- Strong project management skills
