Production Engineering Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the Production and Maintenance groups to solve problems related to quality, safety, and productivity.
- Develop & execute plans for manufacturing cost reductions with respect to 5M efficiency, including the adaptation of new technologies into the production process.
- Coordinate the implementation of new products and product engineering changes into mass production.
- Establish, document, and maintain the Process Control Plan outlining product quality requirements, process setting conditions, and validation requirements within the product line of responsibility.
- Make recommendations and provide justification for capital investments to be made in the area of responsibility for improvements in quality, safety and productivity.
- Create specifications for equipment, jigs and processes
- Conduct investigations into product quality issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Develop manufacturing equipment specifications for existing machine modifications and new line introductions.
- Design new and revised processes to meet customer and internal requirements for quality, cost, delivery, and environment.
- Coordinate and manage project schedules for equipment modifications and installations, including management of external equipment suppliers and contractors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 0-5 years in Manufacturing Engineering in and Engineering role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Experience leading projects and CFT's
- Proven development of processes, product and equipment from concept to implementation
- Analytical & troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products (including Excel, Word, Power Point, & Access) is a must! Other knowledge requirements include robotics programming, PLC programming, AutoCAD, & SolidWorks.
- Experience in successful development of multiple new product launches preferred
- Work experience in manufacturing operations preferred (Automation, Automated vision inspection, Soldering, TIG Welding, or Laser Welding)
