Manufacturing Process Oversight
Manage the safe storage, handling, processing, and disposal of raw materials and manufacturing equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while maintaining efficient operations.
Develop and maintain process documentation to support consistent manufacturing practices.
Product & Process Development
Partner with Research & Development and Product Development teams to support new material and product introductions.
Assist in scaling up material development, conducting plant and equipment trials, and implementing processing parameters from concept to production.
Ensure processes are well-documented and optimized for repeatability and efficiency.
New Product Launch Support
Develop process flow maps, risk analyses, and failure mode assessments for new product launches.
Reference engineering drawings, material specifications, and equipment capabilities to create accurate process documentation.
Collaborate with quality teams to ensure process controls and supporting documentation are aligned with product requirements.
Project & Equipment Management
Lead initiatives involving new equipment selection, feasibility studies, design reviews, testing, and implementation.
Oversee trials and capability studies to ensure equipment and processes meet production targets and quality standards.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to support smooth project execution and on-time delivery.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify root causes of process and material issues.
Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, increasing throughput, and reducing waste.
Process Optimization
Establish and monitor process parameters using statistical analysis to ensure consistent, high-quality production.
Develop and implement process improvements that account for safety, ergonomics, ease of setup, cost efficiency, and manufacturability across various operations, including v-lapping, carding, laminating, die cutting, and thermoforming.
Create and maintain safety checklists to ensure all manufacturing processes comply with workplace safety standards.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.
2–5 years of process engineering experience in nonwoven manufacturing, including fiber carding.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with materials, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro-E) preferred.
Understanding of process control methodologies and quality systems such as PFMEA, control plans, and APQP.
Six Sigma or Red X training/certification is a plus.
Willingness to travel as needed.
