Job Overview:

Commercial Plastics seeks a full-time Process Engineer for our manufacturing facility in Waverly, NE. We are experiencing a tremendous amount of growth in our Waverly, NE Facility. Duties and responsibilities of the Process Engineer can include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluate existing processes
  • Maintain process discipline and seek out opportunities for continual improvement
  • Design and configure manufacturing systems and processes
  • Reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process
  • Train Process Technicians and other personnel in new process technologies and
  • ensure technicians have the knowledge and resources needed to excel in their jobs

Essential Job Duties:

  • Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems
  • Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers
  • Evaluate Injection Molding processes to ensure they are capable of maintaining consistent, quality processes
  • Write up molds and machines for corrective action when a need is detected
  • Develop innovative solutions
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Prepare samples for study
  • Maintain testing equipment
  • Perform new color and raw material testing
  • Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process
  • Provide suggestions during incident investigations
  • Advise on corrective actions
  • Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process
  • Ensure projects are completed on time
  • Ensure financial budgets are followed
  • Research and purchase new manufacturing technology

Non-Existential Job Duties:

  • Perform shrinkage and strength testing
  • Collect, record, and transcribe data
  • Show results in reports

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least two years’ experience in a lean manufacturing environment
  • CAD or AutoCad skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience leading teams
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management, Safety, Environmental, Regulatory, and Equipment Maintenance
  • Familiar with Regulatory Auditors and Compliance
  • Excellent analytical skill and Excel savvy
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing regulations and standards, ISO 9001
  • Familiar with non-compliance trending statistical analysis methodology and tools
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • A self-starter with excellent project management skills
  • Industry experience is not required, but must be willing to learn

Qualifications - Skill Knowledge & Ability:

  • Must have advanced math skills
  • Must have the ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instruction in English
  • Able to complete reporting requirements as assigned
  • Computer skills
  • Good attendance and punctuality is essential
  • Fluent in English
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Reaching, bending and squatting multiple times per day
  • Work while standing for long periods of time
  • Lifting objects up to 50 pounds
  • Shifting, sliding, and guiding heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds with and without lifting aids
  • Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Must be able to work over 8 hours, if needed and weekends if necessary

Training:

  • All required QSP’s
  • Use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Use of Job Boss/IQMS (as required)
  • Company filing structure system for navigation to needed information.
  • Use of Microsoft Outlook e-mail system
  • Solidworks CAD system
