Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the technical management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of new and existing production lines within the Lamination Assembly Department. This role supports manufacturing line planning and process development, resolves production and quality issues, and drives lean initiatives that improve safety, quality, cost, and operational performance. The position is critical to maintaining efficient, reliable production operations and supporting future capital and process improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, layout, and sequencing of manufacturing, testing, and material-handling operations using lean manufacturing principles.
• Develop, maintain, and improve production processes, procedures, and workflows for assigned manufacturing areas.
• Identify machine and equipment design needs and adapt equipment to accommodate plant conditions and production requirements.
• Lead and participate in root cause analysis for quality, equipment, and build issues; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Troubleshoot product, process, and machine difficulties to minimize downtime and support production goals.
• Develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions for assigned production areas.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, improve efficiency, and strengthen process consistency.
• Research, benchmark, introduce, and maintain safe work practices throughout supported areas.
• Prepare capital improvement requests, including cost justifications and supporting documentation.
• Partner with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to support operational priorities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Five to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing processes, production equipment, process improvement, or industrial engineering activities preferred.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Special Requirements

• Must be able to work full-time onsite in Tipton, Pennsylvania.
• Ability to support production needs and respond to manufacturing, equipment, and quality issues as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process flow, production layout, and continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop practical corrective actions.
• Ability to write and maintain clear Standard Work Instructions and technical documentation.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment.

Additional Desired Characteristics

• Experience with capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, or manufacturing line development.
• Experience in a high-volume or assembly-based manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve production efficiency.
• Ability to lead improvement initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, onsite position. The role is based in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production lines, machinery, equipment, and plant personnel.
