Catalyst Technologies (CT) is a market leader in the syngas value chain. It develops and supplies high-value, specialty process technology and catalysts for chemicals and fuels processing to enable our customers to operate efficiently, profitably and sustainably. The Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the EHS, Production, Maintenance and Quality teams to improve safety, efficiencies, quality, and yield. The position will also support the development of new processes, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the plants.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provides daily technical and process engineering support to the Production, EHS, Quality and Maintenance teams
  • Defines and implements improvements in existing process and opportunities for new or additional systems.
  • Provides technical support and problem solving to the manufacturing teams to timely troubleshoot production issues
  • Monitors process conditions daily by evaluating trends and communicates findings to production and maintenance teams
  • Supports site sustainability initiatives to meet JM targets
  • Leads and/or participates in audits of existing processes for safety, environmental, and quality on a regular basis.
  • Assures that effective and efficient process measures are in place.
  • Uses and supports the company’s Management of Change (MOC) procedures. Lead MOCs from start to finish as directed
  • Leads and/or participates in formal, documented process reviews of all new projects.
  • Collaborates with EHS and Quality staff to assure manufacturing processes are safely designed, audited, and operated in accordance with company policies and procedures, which includes all appropriate local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Leads process-related projects as appropriate.
  • Assures process documentation is complete, including, but not limited to process flow diagrams (PFD’s) (with material and energy balances), Process and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s) and process descriptions.
  • Learns and / or applies Lean, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement tools and techniques as required in support of operations Lean efforts
  • Assures process control systems, including interlocks are properly designed, implemented, and regularly verified as required.
  • Develops training material and provides training sessions to operations and maintenance teams
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited school
  • 2-5 years’ experience in process engineering or process engineering management
  • Experience in Process Safety Management environment desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma experience, Green Belt certification preferred.
