Graver Technologies is seeking a skilled and innovative Process Engineer to join our dynamic Adsorbents team at our Newark, NJ manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter. The engineer successfully filling this position will be responsible overseeing all activities for manufacturing our water treatment adsorbents, scale-up of new products, continuous improvement of current products and processes, and implementing and optimizing statistical process control to enhance manufacturing efficiencies.

This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commerial, Quality, and Technical Staff and will work directly with our contract manufacturing partners.

Compensation offered for this role is $125,000

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee Production with Contract Manufacturers:

  • Manage and coordinate production activities with contract manufacturers to ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and cost-effectiveness.

2. Process Design & Optimization:

  • Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Implement process improvements through the application of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement techniques.

3. Process Implementation:

  • Work directly with R&D on scale-up of new product development.
  • Provide technical support during process start-up, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyze process data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on process performance, improvements, and recommendations to management.

5. Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement process control plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent product quality.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production, R&D, quality assurance, and other departments to align process improvements with overall business objectives.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams to address complex issues and drive initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing /chemical environment. Contract manufacturing and pilot to scale-up processing experience helpful.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with diverse groups, and lead projects to successful completion.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and process control systems are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may involve exposure to manufacturing environments, including noise, heat, and potential hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used as required.
  • Travel to other facilities or vendor locations required.
